Depending on the type of eye shape you have, there are many ways to allow the art of makeup to determine how your natural pretty peepers can look dramatically different or understated with a stroke of a brush. However, once you learn which category your eye shape best resemble then you will be able to choose appropriate eye-shadows, eyeliners and even false eyelashes to enhance and/or emphasis the shape that you’re aiming for with much more confidence. I equate learning how to apply eye makeup similar to finding the perfect pair of jeans, either you can put it on and feel absolutely fabulous or put them on and keep pulling them up all day because their obviously to big for you and you don’t want to get rid of them because you’ve spent to much money while vacationing in Cabo, Mexico with your best-friend who happens to be a size 0 and you find yourself putting them on because it’s the cool thing to do- Whew, I just had a horrible flashback!

I should reel it in and devote our Makeup Monday Spotlight to Ms. Taraji Penda Henson, an  actress, author, and singer who has a wonderful wide set of protruding eyes that are so distinctive and so uniquely hers that any makeup artist would find it a treat to work their magic on such a beautiful canvas! There’s a saying that “the eye is the lamp to the body, if your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light,” well, Ms. Henson is full of light, love and positive vibes, and you can clearly witness this by looking directly into her eyes!
