Walking down Broadway from Houston, you could see the crowds of fans waiting outside for Azealia Banks performance. The streets were filled with hundreds and thousands of Fashion Night Out-goers, all coming together to appreciate fashion and shop for a cause.  The events of the evening were awfully hectic, yet brilliantly exciting. As the sun began to set, a glow broke through from all the storefronts of every shop in SoHo, creating an ambience of curiosity and excitement.

At the MAC store, you were greeted by 10x15’ photographic prints of Miss Banks wearing her new M.A.C. lipstick “Yung Rapunxel” which was debuting that night. Her lipstick is a limited edition shade. The shade is a deep, rich shade of plum, which she appeared to be wearing with coordinated nail polish and hair as she took the stage. Fans threw their hands up with Banks still in reach as she took the mic while ticket holders crammed into the narrow venue. Everyone went crazy, rapping along as she spit lyrics to her tracks Van Vogue, 1991 & Liquorice. Her last song, 212, which seems to be her anthem to Manhattan, had the room filled with so much energy.

“Yung Rapunxel” which is named after her alter ego, is available for $15 at www.maccosmetics.com.
