American fashion designer Marc Jacobs is turning heads with his Spring Summer 2013 collection that appeared this week at New York Fashion Week. The night time show premiered a collection of bold stripes in rich satins, washed silk and stiff leathers. The combination of black and white, candy apple red, chamois, periwinkle, chocolate and dark mauve colored the 60’s mod-scene inspired collection. Sophistication was present within the A-line silhouettes and edge was present within the low-rise waist skirts and sheath dresses. His collection conjured the iconic images of Edie Sedgicwick and Peggy Moffitt. Accessories such as an envelope clutch, structured satchel, and/or pointed footwear are sure to be hit this spring.
