To kick off New York Fashion Week Brandice Henderson, C.E.O. and Founder of Harlem's Fashion Row (HFR) hosted a private awards dinner in Midtown Manhattan at Hotel Americano presented by Glaceau Smart Water.
This year, HFR honored stylist Ty Hunter (who has been the guy behind Beyonce's image for the past 15 years) with the innovator award, designer Kevan Hall with the first ever designer of the year award, and Audrey Smaltz with the visionary award.
When accepting her award, Audrey Smaltz briefed about the importance of relationships and keeping them strong. She concluded her acceptance speech "Let's stay in touch... I don't give out cards, but you can Google me." with a roar of laughter from the guests that followed.
Guests, including Harriette Cole (who arrived wearing a scarf from her new luxury crochet collection 108 Stitches), Michaela Angela Davis, Priya Scroggins, Dante Simpson, Constance C. White, Zandile Blay, Jones Chasity Saunders, and Julee Wilson took their seats at the tables with minimal decor and votives that kept the room low lit, intimate and chic.
Congrats Brandice on HFR's 5th year anniversary, because without HFR there would be no diversity in fashion.
