Passed hors d'oeuvres and cocktails kicked off the 2012 Black Women in Entertainment Law (BWEL) Scholarship Fundraiser honoring CEO of BET Networks, Debra Lee.
Sylvia Rhone introduced Debra Lee. Lee felt very honored and shared her humble beginnings and how she made it in the male dominated field of entertainment. “I work too hard, not to love what I do,” said Debra.
Lisa Bonner, Co Founder and Executive of BWEL said, "We had a great time, a wonderful turnout, Debra Lee was fantastic. Debra recollected her path from working as general counsel at BET to running the network. This is exactly the type of mentoring we strive to provide to our students."
Many entertainment and media execs attended the fundraiser, including: Crystal McCrary, Erica Reid, Angelique Miles, Harriet Cole, Stephen Hill, Kenya Moore, and many more.
