Hailing from Harlem, Rev Al Sharpton is set to receive the Humanitarian Award at this year's annual BET Awards.

Respected and known for his dedication to social justice, Sharpton continues to defend. The recent case of Trayvon Martin is a prime example of how his tireless effort to fight for and help his community is one of the many reasons he will be recieving this award. The awards show airs live this Sunday, July 1st, from the Shrine Auditorium L.A.
