Last night’s Grammy Awards were all the rage as the best in music gathered in L.A. to celebrate last year’s accomplishments, but before things got underway, the red carpet was the place to be.

First-time nominees Kehlani, Andra Day and Tori Kelly all nailed their looks for the night. Kehlani fired up the carpet in a red Juan Carlos Obando dress and beautifully styled waves with simplistic jewelry. Tori was among the first to arrive for the festivities, topping many a “best-dressed” list with an  emerald green, one-shoulder gown by Gauri and Manika. Andra also opted to go green in a long-sleeved custom Michael Costello gown with a mermaid hem, furry white heels and a matching fur shawl.

Red carpet veterans Ciara and Mya both made their mark on the carpet in stunning fashion. Ciara’s barely-there black and white Alexander Vauthier dress was the talk of the night with a sky-high slit that turned every head in her vicinity. Mya kept it low key but classy with a black and tan floor length gown paired with statement jewelry and topped off with with a fiery red lip. Beyonce skipped the carpet but still stole the show in this white gown from designer Inbal Dror’s 2016 bridal collection. Bey’s diamond Lorraine Schwartz jewels paired perfectly with the gown’s sheer paneling and detailed embroidery.

Newly-minted Cover Girl Zendaya shook things up in an all-black DSquared2 pantsuit and mullet hairstyle, while rising vocalist Lianne La Havas was stunning in a strapless yellow Vivienne Westwood gown and model Nazanin Mandi brought the sexy to the carpet in a black 2 piece ensemble paired with bright red earrings.

Last but certainly not least, “Empire” star Serayah McNeil and Wondaland bosslady Janelle Monae each made quite the red carpet impression. Seryah stunned in a one-shoulder lilac Vera Wang gown paired with gold accessories and a new bob hairstyle. Remaining true to her unique sense of style, songstress Janelle Monae was stylish and chic in a white lace top with black detailing paired with a circular black skirt.
